SDSU VITA
Appointments are now available, limited to Foreign Student Non-Resident and Foreign Scholar (non-Student) Non-Resident Tax Returns. A few things to consider:
1. If you are unsure of your status, please reach out to vitasdsu@gmail.com for clarification.
2. Only book one appointment per person. It is tracked and your appointments will be canceled if you book two appointments for the same person.
3. We ask that you be available for a full two hours from the start of your appointment. While we hope it does not take this long, it is possible especially during the first couple of weeks (20 & 27 Feb as well as 6 Mar) that we are open while our student volunteers get acclimated to the tax software.
4. If you performed work in a state other than California that has a state income tax, SDSU VITA will be unable to complete any portion of your tax return. Our student volunteers are not trained to this level of complexity, and you likely will need to find a tax professional to have your return prepared. Please do not book an appointment if this is your case. If you book an appointment and show up to it, the student volunteer will inform me, as the Site Coordinator, and I will then turn you away at that point. This is not applicable if you performed work in a state other than California that has no state income tax (i.e. AL, FL, NV, NH, SD, TN, TX, WA, WY, AL, FL); SDSU VITA can prepare these tax returns as CA is still the only state we are preparing a tax return for.
Thank you and we look forward to another successful season of filing tax returns.
